Wrong Turn (Kadaclan Baguio City)

November 26,2011, 0350PM: Me and my friend went on a photo walk to Kadaclan, meters away from work. Interesting thing was we were suppose to take pics of the clouds from the Ranger’s House view deck. We actually found a path leading somewhere – thought it’s Camp John Hay – turned out we were wrong. (Hahahaha) – Enjoy!
1
This was the road we took going to Kadaclan – ohhh, a very long walk.
3
We arrived at the view deck and the clouds looked like these…
2
Then we found this path… It’s a bit dangerous, only a few inch away from the edge of the mountain.
4
Took a pic of the path…
5
A view from the path…
6
We had to pass a very steep mountain, going down – funny because you just can’t control your speed walkin down.
7
We finally reached the low grounds… I loved the shadows and took a pic of it.
8
Then we found this or we followed this kinda-old-road, sun was about to set.
9
And just followed it, until we found a NEW looking road, parallel to the old one.
10
Here’s the new road – with no fallen branches, twigs, leaves, cleaner than the old one. Oh, and yeah, my tripod as the extra, hehehe!
11
More shots from the place.
13
This stop sign looked like it was really hurt – got some real history out there.
14
Was getting really dark when we realized we’re not anywhere in JohnHay. We saw some guards / security personnel and realized we’re in a private property – not really sure if we’re allowed to be there. So we rushed, almost ran, and went back to where we started.
15
That was tiring – going back – luckily, we were not seen, we were not able to see “anyone” unusual – but we were able to see this when we got back to the view deck.
That was an awesome trip… So much for the day, was really tired – but it was worth it. I’m coming back for a sunrise surprise…
Thanks!

Round 2 (Diplomat Hotel–Baguio City)

November 07, 2011, 0130PM, after a slept over at my sister’s place in Dominican Hill Baguio City, I decided to walk a few meters and go back to Diplomat Hotel and witness it’s beauty on mid-day.

1

Here are some shots of the building:

4

Here’s a shot of the garden –with a lil’ angel statue on the fountain – very old – very vintage – shows a lot of history.

5

7

This was taken at the rooftop: It rained that night, and thought of taking a picture of the reflection (was not really successful of making it amazing though).

8

Diplomat Hotel was said to be a haunted place – funny thing was, I saw this group of college students chatting, bonding, eating chips! I just hope that they are not a group of ghosts…

15

Here’s a view of the hallway at the top floor:

9

A view of the reception area – hmm, I guess with or without the receptionist, we’re all welcome to come in…

10

The other side of the building:

And just at the gate of the hotel, a castle-like-building is about to rise – I guess in a few years, it’s going to be awesome – another reason to visit the area.

14

Finally, I was able to feature my second post. Again, this is it for now. I’ll surely comeback here and witness more beauty.

Thanks!

First Sunset Photo Shoot (Diplomat Hotel–Baguio City–Repost)

November 2, 2011 was a tiring day. I worked on lotsa stuff at work, and stayed there until 3:34PM local time. When I took of from the office, I texted my friend and asked if Diplomat Hotel is open. He said it is, and mentioned that he can go with me if I wanna take some pictures. And, so, it began…

1

This was taken at 5:06 PM. We just arrived at the place and I was overwhelmed by the scenery.

7

It was drizzling when we got to the rooftop of the hotel. Thought it was going to rain hard. I felt really bad, thinking that the effort was wasted.

2

A few minutes passed, and the sun started showing it’s beauty! – but of course, with the help of all the elements there, from the clouds, mountains, trees and other stuff.

3

We were running like kids, my friend is really a photo enthusiast, and I was like “WOW” – this is really awesome! Just started liking photography and I never thought this is the feeling you’ll get when you get to love it.

4

This was taken at the back of the record breaking “Guiness World’s Tallest Ten Commandments” inside the diplomat compound. – one of my favorite shots.

5

Funny thing was, I have lived near this area, but never really got the chance to visit it. And, my friend was like “REALLY?” – by the way, he mentioned this was the first time he got to see this kind of sunset from this area.

6

We enjoyed the “almost-a-30-minute-show” of pure beauty! Thank GOD for this! This was one of those days that made me realize = “never ever take anything for granted”.

8

My friend suggested to take my picture at the cross – I loved the idea!

To my friend Emil, Thank you!

This is it for now, I’ll explore more on the area next time – take more pictures.
